Weird Walk #5

Weird Walk #5
A Journal of Wanderings and Wonderings from the British Isles 🍂Edited by Owen Tromans, Alex Hornsby, and James Nicholls
We hope this little treat (or trick?) finds you well…
The nights are drawing in and stories are told around the fire…
At this time of year, as thoughts turn to winter, stories would have been especially important to our ancestors. It is in sympathy with this telling of tales that we offer you issue five of our irregular periodical.
We see the shadowy reverse of the British countryside revealed for younger readers in our exploration of folk horror in children’s literature, while Stewart Lee digs into the travels and tales of the mysterious writer Blanche E. Ward. Elsewhere, ritual animal disguise, water worship, and the gothic tones of the pipe organ spin their own cultural narratives.
This fifth issue of Weird Walk contains an editorial introduction and the following articles…
Stag Ritual: Raise up thy Horns
Pipe Dreams: Vital Organs
Cotswold Ways: An Interview with Charlie Cooper
This Land, There’s Something Wrong: An Interview with Kier-La Janisse
Pan’s Library: Folk Horror for Kids
Around Herefordshire by Stewart Lee
D.I.Y. Stone Circles: Modern and Ancient
The Peculiar Parish Bookshop is proud to be carrying this title from our colleagues in the United Kingdom.
48-page pamphlet with full-color and black-and-white photos and illustrations throughout. Printed on high-quality recycled stock.
